First Regional SuperGreen Workshop, Naples, Italy 

The workshop will take place in Naples, Italy on October 19th, 2010.         (1st Announcement)

The Naples regional workshop will entail a description of the selected corridors and of the Key Performance Indicators that will be used for the benchmarking task. It will also entail input from stakeholders who will participate at the workshop.

First SuperGreen Workshop, Helsinki,  Finland  - Summary

The first SuperGreen Workshop took  place in Helsinki, Finland, on Monday June 28, 2010.

Some 90 participants attended the first workshop of the SuperGreen project, held in Helsinki, Finland, on June 28, 2010.

The full name of the project is “Supporting EU’s Freight Transport Logistics Action Plan on Green Corridors Issues”, and its abbreviated name is “SuperGreen.” It is a Coordination and Support Action, co-funded by the European Commission in the context of the 7th Framework Programme. The project started last January and will last 3 years. It involves 22 partners from 13 European countries.

The audience of the workshop consisted of logistics service providers, shippers, carriers in all surface modes, intermodal transport companies, policy makers, researchers and analysts, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders interested in green logistics.  For more information on the event please click here.

The European Commission promotes the “Green Corridors” concept in order to improve energy efficiency and to reduce the environmental footprint of the transport sector. Launched at the beginning of 2010, the project SuperGreen will assist the Commission with developing the Green Corridor concept.

SuperGreen  is a Coordinated Action supported by the European Commission (DG-TREN) in the context of the 7th Framework Programme.

The 22 partners include: transport operators, terminal operators including ports, infrastructure operators (authorities,shippers, NGOs etc.), environmental organisations, authorities responsible for social and spatial planning and R&D.
